Ick. Have I mentioned how much I hate turbulence? My tummy was all butterflies and flying squirrels the whole way to Sunnydale. I was glad Kennedy was there. She fell asleep though, so I just held onto her hand. I drank my juice and prayed to Hecate that we landed safely. In a few hours we were on the ground again and my stomach started to calm down a bit.
We didn't check any luggage did the whole carry-on deal so as soon as we got of the plane we were set. For what though? I looked around and kind of freaked out. I was standing in a building that wasn't supposed to exist. I mean we said good bye and hello to Giles here. I shrugged squeezing Kennedy's hand for security more than anything.
We headed outside and Kennedy hailed a cab.
"Where to miss?"
I didn't know where to go... it was all too much, I needed something familiar.. I needed Buffy.
"1630 Revello Drive please."
I glanced to Kennedy with a knowing look and she nodded. She knew where we were needed and understood this was the place to go. The airport wasn't too far from the Summers' house and soon we were back to where it all began.
It was funny, all my life I lived in that town and this was the first place I ever really considered my home. We got out and grabbed our bags from the trunk. I paid the driver and watched him drive away. I looked up at the house... it was exactly the same. Down to the windows that we constantly new... I walked up the steps and went to knock... however I hadn't knocked on that door in years. I opted to try the handle and just like old days it was unlocked. I stepped in and set down my bags... Kennedy followed and we stood there just taking it all in again.
"Hello?? Anyone home??"
A thought crossed my mind... Goddess.. not Joyce... please leave her to rest...
Dawn
As I slept I had pleasant dreams of Rome. Dreams of the hppy me. Dreams of Dominick and I and...
"Hello?? Anyone home??"
Suddenly a familiar voice burst my bubble. At first I just thought she was in my dream but as I woke I realized she was really here, the only person who really understood me.
I sat up and fixed my hair, wiped my still wet eyes and ran to the stairs. I looked down and there she was. I ran down the stairs and almost knocked her over.
"WILLOW! Oh my god, it is SO good to see you. I missed you so much!" I was hugging her so tightly I think I was cutting off her circulation but I just kept hugging. I let out a deep sigh. "How was you flight?"
Willow
I was wandering the front room, it was all the same. It was all too weird... even for me. I heard some rustling upstairs I stopped browsing the shelves and tried to listen... however soon I knew who it was. The stomping down the stairs was a dead giveaway. It was Dawn, and I don't think I could have smiled any bigger. I headed toward the stairs and saw her on the landing before she barrelled into me with a hug. Goddess it felt good to see her again. The emails we passed over the months were not enough. This was the proof.
"WILLOW! Oh my god, it is SO good to see you. I missed you so much! How was you flight?"
Yep.. same old Dawnie... mile a minute and hyper as ever. I was glad to see her, and when she let go a bit I was even happier to breath a bit easier. I took a step back to get a look at her. She was practically beaming.. and her aura definitely different.
"Flight.. not so good, but I am here now and getting better by the minute. Look at how long your hair has gotten! You are certainly the mature one aren't you.." I gave her a playful elbow to the ribcage. She had confided in me all those months and I was happy to see her so happy. She deserved it.
"So... Buffy's here unless you came here with someone else... so who else have you seen?" I put my arm around her in a sideways hug. She was getting so tall... almost too tall for that side hug. She really was grown up.
Dawn
"Flight.. not so good, but I am here now and getting better by the minute. Look at how long your hair has gotten! You are certainly the mature one aren't you.."
Still smiling, goofy happy. "Yup I'm all growed up now."
Man was it good to be by her, she always new how to make me smile.
"So... Buffy's here unless you came here with someone else... so who else have you seen?"
She put her arm around me and I put mine around her. I was a little taller than her now.
"Buffy is here with me...well I came with her. I don't know where she is now. Xander and her left while I was on the phone. Oh, and Xander is here by the way." I laughed a little.
Kennedy
I stood in the background, letting the have their reunion. I smiled watching them. Willow had missed Dawn, she talked about her frequently and I knew they kept in touch by email. But it wasn't the same. So, I wasn't about to ruin the moment. Plus, Willow was so cute when she launched into her excited, babbling, happy mode.
I realized I was still holding our bags and slid them off my shoulder, setting them down easily on the floor. I glanced around the room, absently tucking my hands into my backpockets.
"Buffy is here with me...well I came with her. I don't know where she is now. Xander and her left while I was on the phone. Oh, and Xander is here by the way."
I bought my attention back to Dawn as she filled us in on who was there in Sunnydale. Stepping forward, I cleared my throat a bit, to remind them I was there.
"Looks like the gang's all here." I smirked. "Any clue on what's going on yet?"
I wasn't trying to take away from their time, but I wanted to know. Call me curious, call me selfish. But a town just doesn't crumble into a big crater and then just pop back up like nothing happened.
Dawn
Just then I notice that Kennedy is here too. Duh Dawn of course she is. How rude are you.
"Looks like the gang's all here. Any clue on what's going on yet?"
I walk up to Kennedy and hug her, not as tight as Willow but a genuine it's good to see you hugs.
I smile, "Yeah, it's a regular family reunion. I have no clue what's going on. Hell I would so rather not be here but being the sister of a slayer I kinda got dragged along."
Kennedy
I pulled my hands out of my backpockets as Dawn wrapped her arms around me and returned the hug. Okay, that kinda caught me off guard. They've always accepted me because of Willow, but none of them had ever hugged me before. It made me feel good. I gave her a smile as she pulled back from the embrace.
"Yeah, it's a regular family reunion. I have no clue what's going on. Hell I would so rather not be here but being the sister of a slayer I kinda got dragged along."
"Comes with the territory Dawn, figured you'd be used to it by now." I grinned, teasing her. "You've been in the whole evil fighting life for how long now?"
Dawn
When I hugged her she seemed suprised which made he happier I did it.
"Comes with the territory Dawn, figured you'd be used to it by now. You've been in the whole evil fighting life for how long now?"
I almost responded to that question with 'My whole life' but that wasn't true.
"Hmmm, to long. To damn long that's for sure. I haven't been able to lead a normal life since Rome and now even that's gone."
I sigh. "Seems like we never get a break around here huh. I bet you would much rather be killin' stuff in Brazil instead of good ol' non existant Sunnydale."
Willow
Dawn moved to hug Kennedy, which was awkward for a moment, but all was well anyway.
"Yeah, it's a regular family reunion. I have no clue what's going on. Hell I would so rather not be here but being the sister of a slayer I kinda got dragged along. You've been in the whole evil fighting life for how long now?"
I smiled, same old Dawnie... not wanting to be part of the fight...
"Hmmm, to long. To damn long that's for sure. I haven't been able to lead a normal life since Rome and now even that's gone. Seems like we never get a break around here huh. I bet you would much rather be killin' stuff in Brazil instead of good ol' non existant Sunnydale."
I walked toward Kennedy resting my head on her shoulder smiling at Dawn.
"No rest for the heroes.. although we didn't really get much rest. We were kind of caught of guard with the whole Sunnydale is back in action part. Didn't really get much rest on the plane either..." I nudge my hip in Kennedy's direction knowing she knows I caught her sleeping on the second flight. "I know I am exhausted, and as much as the catch up is very welcome... sleep would be even more welcome. Dawnie.. do you mind if we catch some rest while we wait for the others to return?"
I smiled hoping she would be okay with it. Afterall spending most the day on a plane.. after spending the night killing the big icky.. not so good for the mental state.

I know I am exhausted, and as much as the catch up is very welcome... sleep would be even more welcome. Dawnie.. do you mind if we catch some rest while we wait for the others to return?"
I smile at her and put my hands on my hips.
"Nope no sleep allowed. That was one of the tricks to Sunnydale coming back...no beds." I laugh. "Duh Willow, of course you can sleep, who am I to stop you. I've already napped so I think I will indulge myself with tv IN ENGLISH." I chuckle, only good thing about America. "Well you know the way."
I give Willow another hug.
Willow
She gets that stern Dawn look to her... man how I missed all of this. Even the stern Dawn.. is still.. well Dawnie.
"Nope no sleep allowed. That was one of the tricks to Sunnydale coming back...no beds. Duh Willow, of course you can sleep, who am I to stop you. I've already napped so I think I will indulge myself with tv IN ENGLISH. Well you know the way."
I let out a small laugh at her attempt to be tough... it was cute.. I really did miss her. I gave her a tighter hug when she hugs me.
"I missed you Dawnie..." I let go and grab Kennedy's hand... "Wake us if Buffy shows up.. or Xander.. or anyone."
I smile and Kennedy and I head upstairs for some much needed rest.
Dawn
"I missed you Dawnie... Wake us if Buffy shows up.. or Xander.. or anyone."
I watch as they go upstairs hand in hand. They make a great couple. Pretty soon I have a feeling this house is going to become slayer central again. I might as well bask in the quietness while I still can.
I go into the living room and flick throught the channels, there's nothing on but it's still a comfort. Then I doze back off and return to my sweet dreams.
